The National Memorial Arboretum will play host to HRH Price William of Wales later this month. During his visit the prince will be formally invited by Major General Patrick Cordingley DSO to become a Patron of the NMA Future Foundations Appeal.

The NMA Future Foundations Appeal has been given the job of raising £8 million to improve the infrastructure at the Arboretum following a surge in visitor numbers in 2008. The money for the Arboretum, which is supported by The Royal British Legion, is intended to enable the site to become a world-renowned centre for rememberance. There will be a new education facility, a Veterans Pavilion and a central space for major memorial services.

The visit by Prince William, which takes place on 24th April, will see him tour some of the Arboretum’s 150 memorials.

The day is open to the public with special travel arrangements in place for those looking to attend.
