The Lichfield Fuse Festival has launched a new web site and are looking for acts for their acoustic tent.

Fuse Acoustic is a free event held in Beacon Park. Having been there personally for the last three years I can say it’s certainly worth the effort.

So far the lineup looks like this;

Friday, 10th July

Saturday, 11th July

Fuse Artistic Director Tim Perks said:

“Our team are already working hard to make Fuse better than ever this year. We really want everyone in Lichfield to be involved; performing, helping out or just coming along over the weekend.”

If you’ve got the talent to go acoustic, contact Fuse on their web site or through twitter.

Update: I had wrongly written that Fuse was part of Lichfield Festival, which was wrong! Fuse is a separate festival all on it’s own, which is supported by Lichfield Festival.

Rumour about fence is sadly true…

Because Police were called to inscident/s at Fuse/the fireworks last year they are insisting on certain conditions being met before they will recommend Council approves licence (ie. We do it or they won’t let Fuse happen). Council Health and Safety also asking for certain things.

The condtions are significantly more than previous but include a 2m high fence (even though the event is free) with access controlled by approved professional security personnel and conditions of entry.

This has been extensively debated by LDAA committee and an extraordinary meeting of the committee with the outcome that Fuse goes ahead and we work to meet the new conditions. Any extra costs/losses will be underwritten from LDAA funds. There will be an extensive review after this year’s Fuse.
