EXCLUSIVE: Friends have been paying tribute to a Lichfield teenager who has died unexpectedly.

Michael Patterson was found dead in his bed on April 28 and a cause of death is not yet known.

The popular 15-year-old John Taylor High School pupil was well-known in the area for his love of skateboarding and following his death friends have decided to name a proposed skate park in Lichfield after him.

His death has shocked friends and family who have flooded a Facebook group set up in his memory with tributes.

One friend wrote:

“I’m missing you like mad, I just keep thinking about every single one of our good times. I’m sorry for all our arguments and just, everything. Love you so much, wish you could just come back. “

Another added:

“Man, I miss you already, Mike, and I didn’t even get the chance to say bye. It’s such a shock to everybody, you’re missed by hundreds of people. Why did you have to go? Miss you so much but you’rw safe now. Sleep tight matey, I’ll never forget you.”

School staff who knew Michael have also joined the tributes. One wrote on the Facebook group:

“RIP Michael, from all the dinner ladies. We will miss you so much. God bless sweet little boy and God bless all your family – we are thinking of you.”

I felt the whole society of kids in lichfield fall somber the day i found out lil’ mike had passed away. His 15th birthday just passed. I miss you so much Mike, I wish you were still here to talk about how crap our school is and how amazing lichfield is. That was our main topic! Love you babe, and miss you forever my lil’ pal x
