Award for police sergeant behind Lichfield Crime Reduction Partnership

A Staffordshire Police sergeant is set to be honoured at the force’s Annual Awards.

Sergeant Caroline Bailey has responsibility for the Crime Reduction Partnership (CDRP) which covers Lichfield and Burntwood and will receive the High Sheriff’s Millennium Vase at a ceremony on May 19.

The award is given out to the officer who has performed the ‘most meritorious act’ each year.

Sgt Bailey provides the link between the local police and all the partners including the borough and county councils, health service, Trading Standards, education and voluntary sector to name but a few.

In the citation for the award, Sgt Bailey was commended for having “a very positive approach to her work”.

In 2008 when funding was being reduced for one of her programmes regarding violent crime she prepared a bid for additional funding from local government, which was successful.

The citation added:

“Caroline promotes a ‘can do’ attitude to her role. Her leadership and pro-active approach along with her knowledge of local issues is outstanding.”
