A man has been taken to hospital after suffering an allergic reaction from a bee sting in Lichfield.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Church Close in Shenstone, Lichfield, at 3pm on Saturday.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said:

“Crews arrived to find a man suffering a severe allergic reaction to a bee sting. The man, believed to be in his 60s, had a swollen face, throat and was finding it increasingly difficult to breathe.

“Crews immediately administered drugs to ease his breathing and reduce the effects of the allergic relation before he was taken by land ambulance to Good Hope Hospital for further assessment and treatment.”
