Gunge, grease and giggles will be out in force for local companies, pubs and clubs who take part in this year’s It’s A Knockout competition for St Giles Hospice.

Organisers have been scouring the 1970s TV archives to ensure this year’s event recreates the madness and mayhem of the legendary BBC show, best described as a school sports day for adults.

Teams of 10 are invited to take part in the laugh-a-minute contest on August 9, which will feature crackpot costumes, wet and wild challenges, giant inflatables and a whole host of other goo-inspired games.

Minimum sponsorship for It’s a Knockout is £50 per team member and entry forms are available from the Fundraising Office at St Giles Hospice.

Sarah Shelton, Community Fundraiser for St Giles Hospice says:

“This is a great way for friends, family and work colleagues to get their hands dirty – literally – for charity. Professional events company Knockout Roadshow will be organising all the fun and games, and we’re are asking teams of 10 to sign up by contacting us now!”

The event is being held at Lichfield Cathedral School playing fields, Gaia Lane, from 12 noon and hysterical Stuart Hall-style guffawing will kick off when the It’s A Knockout teams enter the arena.

To enter It’s a Knockout, please call 01543 432538 or email sarah.shelton@st-giles-hospice.org.uk .
