Last chance for Lichfield residents to vote in Patients’ Choice Awards

The deadline is looming for Lichfield residents to vote for staff, carers and fellow members of the public for a care and excellence award.

South Staffordshire Primary Care Trust (PCT) launched the Patients’ Choice – Quality and Excellence Awards last month to recognise high quality services, positive patient experiences, organisational efficiency and excellence in individuals or team achievement.

The last chance people can have their say is June 26, when they can either vote online or in writing for the person or people they think should win one of seven categories.

Stuart Poynor, Chief Executive of South Staffordshire PCT said:

“Ensuring that health care services are of a high quality and that patient experiences are positive are the key priorities for South Staffordshire PCT and for other local NHS organisations. This event, I believe will help us to increase our focus on quality and excellence and support us to enhance further the services that are delivered.

“I hope that it will also strengthen our relationship with our patients and local people by asking them to nominate teams and individuals for exceptional service, as well as nominate members of the general public who commit so much time to health through public engagement forums and also to acknowledge the special contribution that carers make.

“I would urge people to please nominate before next Friday to ensure the unseen hard work these dedicated people do everyday is recognised and rewarded.”

Patients, the public and stakeholders can make their nominations by collecting a form from a variety of locations locally including GP Practices or they can nominate online by visiting www.southstaffordshirepct.nhs.uk

The seven winners and runners-up will be acknowledged at an awards ceremony to be held on September 9 at Staffordshire County Showground, Stafford.
