Staff at two Lichfield travel shops will be playing cowboys and indians for charity on July 4 when they hold a special event to celebrate American Independence Day.

Staff at Midlands Co-op Travel at Boley Park Centre and in the Three Spires Shopping Centre, will be marking the date this year by dressing as cowboys and indians and offering special deals on selected American holidays for one day only.

Visitors to either store will also be able to take part in a raffle, in aid of the British Heart Foundation, as well as taking advantage of some classic American snacks, including popcorn and wine gums, which will be on offer to customers.

Ruth Lincoln, Manager of the Bakers Lane shop, explained:

“We hope lots of people will come along and share in the fun and raise money for a good cause.  There are lots of great deals on American holidays at the moment and, with the pound currently quite strong against the dollar, America is proving to be a very popular holiday destination.  People who come along to our event will be able to find out about the best places to visit as well as taking advantage of some fantastic offers.”

Midlands Co-op Travel in Boley Park is currently operating late night shopping to cater for peak season demand.  The shop will be open from 9am to 8pm, Monday to Thursday until the end of August.  The shop is also open from 9am to 5.30pm on Fridays, 9am to 5pm on Saturdays and 10am until 4pm on Sundays.
