Lichfield residents are being urged to put the kettle on and support St Giles Hospice’s first ever Mammoth Coffee Morning Week

The fundraising event runs from July 27 to August 1 and will help raise funds for medical and nursing care for people with cancer and other serious illnesses.

The charity is inviting people from across the region to hold a coffee-themed event, big or small, and has come up with some simple and fun ways to raise funds to help care for local people living with cancer and other serious illnesses.

Helen Relihan, Head of Fundraising at St Giles Hospice, said:

“From a cup of coffee with a best friend to inviting neighbours, colleagues or club members to take a little time out to relax with a cuppa, people can choose how they support Mammoth Coffee Week. Hot drinks and summer smoothies could be combined with cakes, a quiz, raffle or auction, or people might wish to hold a ‘coffee evening’ instead, and impress their guests with delicious coffee-flavoured liqueurs.

“A number of local groups have already signed up to this brand new event in the St Giles calendar, and whatever people choose to do to support Mammoth Coffee Morning Week, we want to make sure everybody takes a little time out to have fun while raising much-needed funds for St Giles!”

St Giles is also holding its own Mammoth Coffee Morning, open to all from 10am till 12noon on July 29 at Boley Park Community Centre, Lichfield.
