Burntwood Town FC manager Mike Gentles has admitted he is still keen to add experience to his squad before the start of the season.

Town returned to training last week with the club’s league and cup winning youth side looking to catch the first team manager’s eye.

But despite admitting he is pleased with the youngsters coming through the ranks, Gentles admitted he needed to strike a balance.

The manager told the Burntwood Town FC website:

“All the lads trained well and the most of the youth players looked ready to step up. We are looking to add a few more players to bolster the squad and add experience though.”

Attacking midfielder Gary Smith was among those back on the training field after the knee injury which has kept him out of contention for the past two seasons, while striker Omar Zaman was also back at the club.

Others who have also expressed an interest in training with Gentles’ side are ex-Walsall and Nottingham Forest schoolboy Dominic Warrican and one-time Highgate wideman Sean Sneyd.
