footballLichfield District Council’s Aspire team is giving budding Ronaldo’s the chance to learn some fancy footwork at a fun football coaching week.

The week will cover all the fundamentals of the game – including dribbling, ball control, shooting and passing and goalkeeping skills.

The course is running from August at Coton Green Football Club in Fazeley 17-21. It will kick off each morning at 10am and finish at 3pm.

Sessions are being lead by FA-qualified coaches, including Lee Evans – an ex Chasetown FC FA Cup hero and current Stafford Rangers FC goalkeeper.

Nick Baker, Aspire Development Officer, said:

“If you are aged seven to 14 and want to brush up on your football skills come and join in the fun at Aspire’s Football Coaching Week. It’s a great way to meet new friends and be expertly coached. You never know, our coaches could even spot the next Rooney in the making! And for just £25 for the whole week, it’s great value.”

A football tournament will end the football-themed week, when friends and family can come along to cheer their football stars on from the sideline, and children can bounce on a bouncy castle. The tournament starts at 12 noon on August 21 at Coton Green Football Club.

The Aspire Project is funded by Staffordshire County Council’s Children’s Fund.
