Former Chasetown FC striker Kyle Perry enjoyed a dream start to his Mansfield Town career.

Perry, who signed for Mansfield on a two-year deal during the summer, scored twice in the first-half of his debut as the Stags beat Crawley 4-0.

Despite his goalscoring drought which led to his eventual departure from Port Vale – the club who took him into the professional ranks from Chasetown – Perry made no mistake as he beat the offside trap courtesy of an injured player to score his first in Mansfield colours.

And then his dream day for the Blue Square Premier side was completed when he lashed home from 12 yards out just before the interval.

Mansfield boss David Holdsworth was full of praise for the former Chasetown man after the final whistle. He said:

“I thought [Kyle] Perry was unplayable at times.”
