Lichfield residents are being urged to design a time machine for a new competition as part of Heritage Weekend and Georgian Festival in the city.

The competition is part of the weekend of events planned for September 19 and 20.

To take part in the competition, collect an entry sheet from Erasmus Darwin House, Samuel Johnson Birthplace Museum, Lichfield Library or the Heritage Centre. During Heritage Weekend itself participants can also collect information from the Visit Lichfield tent on Market Square as well as the other venues.

Competition entries need to be handed in to the Visit Lichfield tent or Erasmus Darwin House only by the end of September 20. Judging will then take place and a small exhibition of the best entries will be held at Erasmus Darwin House from September 25.

A spokesperson for the competition said:

“Prizes will be given to the winners so remember to include your name, age and contact details. So put your thinking caps on and become an avid inventor!”
