New Chasetown FC loan signing Grant Ryan has confirmed he would like to extend his stay at the club.

The Mansfield striker was brought in on an initial one month deal, but after manager Charlie Blakemore admitted he would be interested in keeping the front-runner on, the 18-year-old has echoed his manager’s thoughts.

Ryan has impressed during his short spell at Chasetown and with the departures of Craig Marshall and Harry Harris, exending his stay is an option the Scholars are likely to pursue.

The Mansfield man told The Lichfield Blog:

“Everyone at the club has made me feel very welcome since I arrived and I would definitely stay for a longer loan spell if the option came along.”

Despite having left the battle for a spot in the Mansfield side behind him for the time being, Ryan believes plying his trade in the Unibond League with Chasetown will be good for his footballing education.

He continued:

“I am not worried about dropping down to this level at all as there are some very good players in this league and in the Chasetown team which can help me progress further. I am only 18 so I’m looking to get some much-needed physical mens football under my belt, as last year I was playing with people my own age and no older.

“I intend to give Chasetown 110 per cent to help them get much-needed points for promotion this season and also to benifit myself.”
