Chance for young people in Lichfield to get their voice heard

Young people in Lichfield are being urged to get involved with the Shadow Children’s Trust Board – a group that aims to give them a voice in local decision-making.

Staffordshire Youth Service’s Lichfield Youth Forum, Young People of Today (YPT), will be hosting a meeting at Lichfield District Council’s Chambers in Frog Lane, on September 28.

The Shadow Children’s Trust Board is a board of children and young people who are interested in issues which concern their age group and want to help make a difference.

County Councillor Ben Adams, Cabinet Member for Communities and Culture, said:

“The Shadow Children’s Trust Board is an excellent way for young people to get their voices heard. They inform the Children’s Trust Board about the issues affecting them, giving their perspective from a district level. It’s really important that they get their views across, and this evening at The Council Chambers is a great way to do this. I would urge any young person in the local area to go along and find out more.”

The meeting will take place at the Council Chamber in Lichfield, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. YPT also holds regular meetings at Minster Hall in Dam Street, from 5pm to 7pm. Contact John Rees, Youth Worker, on 07837 694529 or email
