Chasetown FC goalkeeper Ryan Price has admitted he’s desperate to win his place back in the side.

Price has been kept out of the team since returning from a hip injury.

During his spell on the sidelines, the Chasetown stopper has seen understudy Martin Taylor keep two clean sheets in the last two games.

As a result, Price accepts that he may be forced to wait a little longer to win his place back. He said:

“I’m fully fit and raring to go, but I’m not sure if I’ll get a chance this weekend against Mickleover Sports. Obviously it’s the gaffer’s choice, but as Martin kept a clean sheet last week I’m not too hopeful.”

But Price has insisted he’s keen to keep reminding manager Charlie Blakemore that he’s ready for the off. He joked:

“I’m hoping the gaffer might get sick of me moaning soon as I’m like a bear with a sore head when I’m not playing!”

One player who won’t be in contention for Saturday’s fixture is Lee Greenway.

He followed fellow forwards Craig Marshall and Harry Harris out of Chasetown after being left out of the first team picture.

Boss Blakemore confirmed Greenway had joined Shepshed Dynamo. He told the official Chasetown website:

“Lee has decided to leave Chasetown after finding his first team opportunities limited.”

The Scholars’ league game at Mickleover Sports kicks off at 3pm tomorrow (September 19). Fans who can’t make the game can keep upto date with the latest news from the ground via Chasetown’s Twitter page.
