Lichfield Diamonds Ladies 5 Hereford Phoenix LFC 1

After taking the lead inside the first two minutes Diamonds were not good for the first half hour, constantly giving away possession with poor passing and poor control.

Three missed tackles allowed Pheonix to equalise which finally spurred the City girls out of their lethargy. Katy Rose controlled and turned just outside the box, saw the keeper well off her line and deftly lifted the ball home.

Diamonds then went on to dominate the rest of the game, Karen Clough added the third early in the second half with Skip Hopton back into midfield after missing the opening two games turning in the fourth from close range.

Clough beat three defenders only to blast the ball over but quickly made amends heading in the fifth at the back post.
