Singer Gwyneth Herbert is set to follow up a stunning debut appearance in the city with another concert at the Lichfield Guildhall.

Described by The Observer as “a voice that’s a knowing mix of honey, steel and gravel”, Gwyneth first wowed Lichfield audiences two years ago before captivating the crowd at the Lichfield Real Ale, Jazz & Blues Festival.

And now she’s set to return to the Guildhall on October 9 with her soulful, emotional wry and poetic mix of original material drawing on a wide range of influences from Rufus Wainwright to Joni Mitchell.

Her first album Between Me and the Wardrobeproduced by Seb Roachford has received rave reviews with musicians of the calibre of Steve Holness on piano, Sam Burgess on bass and percussion from Dave Pricea.

Lichfield Arts Director Brian Pretty said:

“Gwyneth Herbert is simply brilliant , with a sound and style that draws on past styles and traditions, but with a need to embrace change the future. Don’t take my word for it just come and see her live in the wonderful surroundings of the Guildhall.”
