Lichfield production brings a tale of revenge to the stage

Revenger's Tragedy

Revenger's Tragedy

A tale of revenge is set to take to the stage at the Lichfield Garrick Studio.

Described as “ironic, iconic and sexy, brimming with the darkest humour”, Revenger’s Tragedy threatens to drag the audience screaming into a decaying, debauched society where morals hold no value and ideals have no worth.

The play follows Vindice, who is desperate for revenge against the tyrannical Duke who destroyed his world. Moving amongst the Duke and his truly dysfunctional family, he encounters more than he bargains for, and discovers that even his nearest and dearest are not above temptation.

With a specifically adapted text and progressive direction, matched with experimental rehearsal techniques and a diversity of cast, this production aims to push the boundaries of ‘heritage theatre’ in performance.

Jadis Shadows, an experimental, professional development touring company, present this brand new and creatively designed adaptation of the Jacobean classic.

Revenger’s Tragedy is at the Garrick on October 1 and 2. Tickets, priced £12 (£10 students), are available by calling the box office on 01543 412121 or visiting
