Graffiti workshop for Lichfield residents

Lichfield residents are being given the opportunity to tap into their creative side with a graffiti workshop.

The event takes place at Mile Oak Recreation Ground on Saturday (October 3) from 11am to 4pm.

The workshop is part of a community art project which is aiming to add a splash of colour to the site.

The Make Your Mark workshop follows on from a graffiti project that took place at this summer’s Mile Oak and Fazeley Festival, when graffiti artist Matt Reeves created a huge piece of art that covers the back of the Mile Oak Rovers’ football stand.

Now the football club wants local people to join fellow artist Dave Brown to help him create a huge piece of community art on the front of the stand.

Dave explained:

“If you want to make your mark on the football stand, come down to Mile Oak Recreation Ground, just off Price Avenue, to show off your creative skills. I’ll be working with local people to come up with a theme for the piece, and will be helping everyone to make their own mark on the work. The workshop is free and open to anyone aged from 12 to 112 – just remember to turn up in old clothes as it may be messy.”

The project is being funded by the Lichfield District Council, the Community and Learning Partnership and HomeZone Living.
