The results of the Burntwood in Bloom competition have been announced.

The Crown scooped the Best Commercial Premises title, while Mr and Mrs B Littler won the overall title after scoring well in the front and back garden categories.

Elsewhere in the second year of the contest organised by Burntwood Town Council, the junior crown went to St Joseph & St Theresa RC Primary School.

  • Best Dressed Shop or Office Window: Doorstep Deli (1st), Pamela (2nd).
  • Best Front Garden: Mr and Mrs J E Allport (1st), Mr and Mrs B Littler (2nd), Robert Gregory (3rd), Mr and Mrs T G R Price (highly commended) , Mary Cope (highly commended), Karen Barker (highly commended).
  • Best Rear Garden: Mr and Mrs B Littler (1st), Mr and Mrs J E Allport (2nd), Robert Gregory (3rd), Mr A Sorroll (highly commended), Christine Saxton (highly commended) Mr and Mrs T G R Price (highly commended), Barbara Marshall (highly commended), Abigail Carter (highly commended).
  • Best Container or Trough: Mr and Mrs J E Allport (1st), Robert Gregory (2nd), Mr and Mrs T G R Price (3rd), Mr A Styles (highly commended), Abigail Carter (commended).
  • Best Community Project or Premises: St John’s Community Church (1st), Abigail Carter (2nd), Jean and Thomas Clark (3rd), Friends of Chasetown Memorial Park (commended)
  • Best Young Peoples’ Project: St Joseph & St Theresa RC Primary School.
  • Overall Winner (from combined marks in Best Front and Best Rear Garden categories): Mr and Mrs B Littler.

    Hi Nick,

    Unfortuantely we don’t have the facility to go out and photograph them so the picture we featured was the only one sent to us by the organisers. Burntwood Town Council might have more on their site in the coming days possibly?
