Chasetown FC sign striker ahead of FA Trophy clash

Chasetown FC travel to Lincoln United in the FA Trophy with yet another new face in the dressing room.

Manager Charlie Blakemore has moved once more to bolster his ranks with the signing of Reece Styche.

The 20-year-old – who has had previous spells with Hednesford Town and Bromsgrove Rovers – moves to The Scholars Ground from Shepshed Dynamo.

Speaking on the club’s website, Styche said:

“I’m very impressed with the set-up here at the Scholars, and I’m looking forward to my first game with the side.”

Styche joins fellow newcomers Rene Williams and Tom Lappin in strengthening the hand available to boss Blakemore following the departures of Harry Harris, Craig Marshall and Lee Greenway.

But while Chasetown have options in their squad, Saturday’s opponents Lincoln are facing injury doubts as they look to reverse the 1-0 league defeat they suffered at the hands of the Scholars earlier this season.

Their in-form striker Sam Wilkinson is doubtful with a back injury, while Jamie Forrester could also miss out  with a hamstring problem.
