Lichfield City FC boss looking forward to Police challenge

Lichfield City FC manager Dean Gilbert is hoping his side will continue to improve when they face West Midlands Police.

Gilbert saw a marked improvement in Saturday’s 2-1 Jack Mould Trophy defeat against Hampton and will be hoping for more of the same in the Staffs Vase clash tomorrow (October 3).

But West Midlands Police will be no pushover and the Lichfield boss knows his players will have to rise to the challenge.

Gilbert said:

“West Midlands Police is always a very hard place to travel to as they are obviously very, very fit. The Tally Ho! boasts the best facilities in the Midland Combination and my lads will enjoy the day.

“The police are also doing well in the league, but that doesn’t worry us at all – we always pull out the stops when we face a side a league above us so im hoping for a cup upset.”
