PCSO Karpi said:

“I was a Special constable at Uttoxeter for two years and I really enjoyed the community aspect of the job.”

As a member of Staffordshire Police’s control room team for more than seven years, she dealt with 999 calls, sending police officers to deal with incidents.

She explained:

“Speaking to the public and helping them over the phone was all very well but I am now looking to being out in the community helping and supporting people.”

Superintendent Jonathan Drake, deputy commander of Trent Valley Division explained why the arrival of the new PCSOs is welcome:

“Our approach towards neighbourhood policing puts officers close to the public. They are highly visible in their neighbourhoods and work to tackle those issues that matter most to local people.

“The new officers come to us from different walks of life but all bring a good understanding of the kinds of local issues which can affect people’s quality of life.”
