Lichfield Leisure Leagues football round-up

Gash Wanderers stayed in the running for the Lichfield Sunday six-a-side Leisure Leagues Premier Division runners-up berth following their 3-1 success over YMA.

Division One saw Boley Explosion beat Hexis FC Legends via the same scoreline, but the action at the top of the table saw Clifton Rovers move a point clear with their goalless draw against Mean Machine, as FC Licho were surprisingly beaten 1-0 by rock-bottom Balboa’s Boys.

Boley Park Academy’s title hopes remain alive in the Monday league following a comfortable 4-1 win over Old Heads, but Monkey’s Punk are still top of the pile after a 2-0 victory against rock-bottom Banana Grove.

The Division One race is a lot tighter as there were 3-1 wins for both Dad’s Army and Street Strikers over Barmy Army Tage and England Youth respectively.

Lichfield Crown are sitting firmly in their place at the top of the Sunday six-a-side league after making a winning start to the new season.

Crown smashed five past FC Lichfield without reply, sending out their early intentions. FC No Chance also shot out of the blocks, seeing off the challenge of The Dead Hand Gang in a 4-1 mauling.

Big Dawgs also picked up maximum points as they put Bayern Neverlosin’s name to the test, and passed with flying colours in a 2-0 win. Elsewhere, K.E.D and Sporting shared the spoils as it finished 1-1.
