Lichfield Cathedral plays host to choral fundraiser

choral-cathedralMusic lovers will be able to enjoy an evening of choral sounds and help fund the upkeep of Lichfield Cathedral at a special event.

Featuring The Cathedral Choir, The Chamber Choir, Young Voices and The Girls’ Choir, the event takes place on November 7.

The programme features a wide range of popular music to include Handel, Mendelssohn, Howard Goodall, John Rutter, and even Captain Noah.

The evening will see 140 singers joined by the Cathedral Brass Ensemble.

Philip Scriven, the Cathedral’s Director of Music, said:

“Our Choral Extravaganza is going to be a truly unique event, and one not to be missed. Choral music in the Cathedral has never been as vibrant as it is today, boasting a variety of choirs of all ages. On November 7, 140 singers will combine their voices in harmony, with a programme of music to suit all tastes.”
