Cult singer-songwriter John Otway is set to bring his eccentric sounds to the Lichfield Guildhall.

Best known for his hit Really Free during the punk wars of the late 1970’s, he has maintained a popular following thanks in part to his energetic life shows.

His second hit song Bunsen Burner was released in 2002, and saw the singer performing on Top of the Pops.

Brian Pretty, Lichfield Arts Director said:

“John Otway will be one of the more eccentric performers we have had performing at the Guildhall. We only know that each show will be different, so we don’t really know what to expect. He has a number of well crafted songs to draw on, and this, combined with his sense of humour will mean that this will be another show to be remembered for Lichfield Arts.”

The November 15 concert starts at 8m and tickets can be purchased at www.lichfieldarts.org.uk, by calling the box office on 01543 262223,or by visiting the Lichfield Arts offices in Donegal House on Bore Street.

Many thanks for the heads-up about this. We’ve booked our tickets. Have even heard a rumour that Wild Willie Barrett may be there as well!
