A dress designed especially for showbiz legend Danny Le Rue is set to add a touch of glam to the Lichfield Garrick pantomime.

Ian Adams, who is set to play Window Twankey in the Lichfield Garrick’s magical panto Aladdin, will make a spectacular finale in the costume which was designed for and worn by the late star.

Danny La Rue donned the dress when he played Widow Twankey in Aladdin at the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton in 1991.

Adrian Jackson, Artistic Director, said:

“We’re thrilled to own a piece of theatre history which was worn by one of theatre’s most iconic dames.  I think this is fitting tribute to the late, great Danny La Rue.”

Director and writer Ian will star alongside TV chef Rustie Lee and funny man Barnaby in this year’s family pantomime.

Aladdin will run from November 27 to January 9. To book tickets call the Lichfield Garrick box office on 01543 412121 or visit www.lichfieldgarrick.com.
