Dean Gilbert is hoping that his Lichfield City FC side can take their recent good form into the Staffordshire FA Challenge Cup.

In the last three games, City have scored 12 goals and conceded just once on their way to recording three consecutive victories.

Heath Town Rangers from the West Midlands (Regional) League visit Brownsfield Park on Saturday (November 7), kick-off 1.30pm, and Gilbert is in confident mood.

He said:

“Saturday will be a good yard-stick to measure our recent success against. I know a bit about Heath Town from my time at Dudley Town.

“They are on a decent run at the moment and, facing opposition from a higher division, will be a tough test for my lads. That said, we’re in great form and will be looking to cause an upset. We are playing well at the moment and are full of confidence.

“The league is the most important competition but we’ll be looking to make it through to the next round of the Staffs Cup on Saturday.”
