Homeowners in Lichfield and Burntwood are being urged to sign up for grants to help them insulate their homes this winter.

Lichfield District Council’s Warmer Homes, Greener District initiative gives local homeowners grants of up to 50 per cent off the cost of installing cavity wall and loft insulation, and full grants to eligible residents.

Burntwood resident Richard Stewart is already feeling the benefits of having his loft insulated thanks to a full Warmer Homes, Greener District grant. He explained:

“Because I qualified for a Warmer Home, Greener District grant, I got the work done for free. The advisers and installers were really helpful and sorted everything out. Since we had the loft insulated, we’ve turned the thermostat right down and the house is still nice and cosy.”

Councillor Ian Pritchard, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet Member for Housing, Health and Environmental Protection, added:

“It’s really important to make sure your home is energy efficient, and getting loft and cavity wall insulation installed will go a long way to achieving this. We hope local residents will follow Richard’s lead and benefit from a Warmer Homes, Greener District grant.”
