Burntwood Leisure Leagues football round-up

The brand new season in the Burntwood Sunday six-a-side Leisure Leagues Premier Division got off to a flying start as Heavyweights claimed a 4-2 success over FC Firm, while FC Laser shared a hard-fought 2-2 draw with Average Joes as Ian Murphy starred.

The Big Devils stormed home to a 7-2 demolition of One Hit Wanderers in Division, and LGCC FC eased through 4-0 against The Untouchables.

Manaconk FC sealed the Monday Premier Division title in sublime fashion as they sent the Big Macs packing in a crushing 6-0 win.

Definitelymaybe tried everything they could to take it to the final night as they brushed aside the challenge of Ken Dodd’s, 4-1, but it just wasn’t to be for the former, who now have a battle on their hands to secure runners up spot.

Beercalona are very much in with a shout of snatching second place, as they battled to a 2-1 victory over The Barns.

More Draws Than The Lotto

More Draws Than The Lotto

ABCDE FC gave their chances of First Division survival a massive boost as they dug deep to edge past More Draws Than The Lotto 2-0.

FC Catalonia have lost their grip on the Second Division summit after being held to a 1-1 draw by The Drop Outs. Mean Machine slipped up as they also drew 1-1, with The Trident Troopers, meaning the title race will go down to the last night next week.

The Third Division title race is hanging in the balance as Burntwood Villa sit a point clear going into the last set of fixtures after they saw off the challenge of The Green FC 3-0.

FC Sporting can still snatch the crown as they battled past MS 2-0. However, a last day defeat for the former and a win for either Team Salad or Scales FC could cost Sporting promotion altogether.

Team Salad showed their intentions with a 6-0 thrashing Burntwood Villains, whilst Scales FC beat Bobby Dazzlers 3-1 to set up a gripping finale.
