A group of local Beavers were given an art class with a difference as they visited a Lichfield company to see how its unique t-shirts are designed, printed, packed and shipped worldwide.

Members of the 1st Lichfield (St Chad’s) Beaver group even got to take home a personalised shirt each as they visited Soccerprint.co.uk, a Lichfield company which designs and sells original t-shirts across the world from its offices on Britannia Way.

Leader Tracey Kelly said:

“We wanted to do something that would enable the kids to follow a product from the beginning to the end and it was fantastic – they got to see how their own shirts were designed on the computer, how the design is transferred to the shirt and then see the shirts packed into a presentation box.

“They’ve all taken a shirt home and most of them want to come and work for Soccerprint when they’re older!”

Soccerprint.co.uk was founded by Dave Hitchman, who was a Beaver himself with the 1st Lichfield group over 20 years ago.

Dave said:

“We were delighted to be able to offer something back into the community. We have grown as a business over the last couple of years but we still produce shirts for many local organisations like the Beavers, local Cub groups and Lichfield Youth Service.

“We are really busy with Christmas orders now but things like this make it all worth it. We even put each shirt in a Soccerprint.co.uk presentation box, just like it would be if they had bought one and opened it on Christmas Day – it was fantastic to see the smiles on the children’s faces!”
