Workers clean up the dumped rubbish

An appeal has been made for witnesses to come forward after a large amount of rubbish was dumped near Lichfield.

Lichfield District Council workers were called to clean up the illegal fly-tipping on Broad Lane in Huddlesford earlier today (December 4).

And now the council are urging anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area, to come forward.

Ruth Plant, Director of Operational Services, said:

“The amount of waste from building sites and house clearances, that’s being dumped across the district, seems to be on the increase. This is not just unsightly, it is also expensive to clear up, which is why we’re also urging anyone who sees any fly-tipping in action to report it to us.”
