Art fans can enjoy a trio of exhibitions if they visit Chasewater Innovation Centre in the run up to Christmas.

Handbags and Glad Rags, created by Ann Parker and Heather Sullivan, features a colourful array of locally designed contemporary crafts.

The display includes handbags, scarves and accessories which will make the perfect festive gift. It is available to view now and will be on display until January 6.

Artist Philip Cox has put together a collection of papier-mâché work which features sculptures of animals and people. He has used a variety of materials including cardboard, newspapers, paper bags and scrap paper to create his life size art work.

Animal Tales will be showcased until January 6.

Wildlife, people, pets are transport will be the focus of Simon Tew’s exhibition. The paintings are mainly watercolours and most of the work will be on sale. The exhibition will be displayed until January 7.

Staffordshire County Councillor Mike Maryon, Cabinet member for Environment and Countryside, said:

“The innovation centre is pulling out all the stops to offer residents some high quality indoor entertainment now that the winter weather is upon us. These three exhibitions are unique – the sculptures are very impressive and will definitely draw in the crowds while the handbags, accessories and paintings will make ideal Christmas presents.”
