Crowds expected for Lichfield Cathedral’s carol concert

A crowd of more than 1,000 people is expected to turn out for a Christmas carol concert at Lichfield Cathedral.

Last year’s performance from the Salvation Army Cannock Citadel Band saw 1,250 people hear a selection of traditional music and readings, as well as joining in with a number of popular carols.

And this year’s event on December 17 is expected to be just as busy, so people are advised to arrive early to get a seat.

The concert follows the 50th anniversary performance by the Lichfield Cathedral Special Choir last Saturday (December 5).

More than 750 people attended to the delight of Choir Chairman, Ann Frost. She said:

“I have received lots messages of congratulations with many commenting on how uplifted they felt and went home with tunes in their head. A thank you to all.”

The December 17 concert starts at 8pm.
