Dean Gilbert is hoping his Lichfield City FC side can extend their unbeaten run to four games when they entertain Chelmsley Town at Brownsfield Park.

City defeated Racing Club Warwick’s Reserves last weekend and currently occupy fifth place in the Midland Combination Second Division table. By contrast it has been a mixed campaign for Chelmsley who, despite early promise, are currently twelfth.

However, Gilbert believes that Saturday’s opposition are in a false position and he is expecting a tough encounter. He said:

“Chelmsley are a well drilled side under Steve Solomon. I am expecting a very difficult game. Their quality belies their current league position. They are an established side with excellent facilities and it will be another tough test for us.

“That said it’s a game we are all looking forward to. Hopefully, the Lichfield public will take the opportunity to pop along to Brownsfield Park and cheer on their local team.”

The game kicks off at 2pm on Saturday (December 12).
