Jane Rossington as The Snow Queen

Crossroads star Jane Rossington is set to bring a touch of magic to the Lichfield Garrick.

Jane heads the cast in the new production of the classic Hans Christian Andersen story The Snow Queen.

The play takes audiences to a winter wonderland – but there’s a twist in the tale.

The Snow Queen captures Kay, a young orphan, and takes him away to her ice palace.  But she didn’t bargain for his fearless sister, Gerda, who sets out to rescue him. On Gerda’s adventure she meets the Tsar of Russia, Princess Popishka, the funny robbers and a host of colourful animal characters, including cuddly Mossy the Reindeer.

But, just who is the Snow Queen and why is her heart so cold?  Is she really planning to rule the world in a new ice age?

The show also features the designs of Elizabeth Waghorn.

The Snow Queen runs at the Lichfield Garrick from February 16-20. To book tickets online visit www.lichfieldgarrick.com or call the Lichfield Garrick’s box office on 01543 412121.
