Lichfield residents are being urged to build a bird a home at two workshops in the city.

Lichfield District Council is hosting the bird box building sessions at Beacon Park on February 19 and 20.

At the workshops people will learn how to make a bird box which they can take home to put up in their own gardens or donate to help the birds in Beacon Park.

Councillor Val Richards, Cabinet Member of Leisure Services, said:

“Many birds are starting to look for a home so now’s the time to put up a box in your garden. Attract wildlife into your garden by making a bird box at Beacon Park’s workshop. Last years event was very popular, so we recommend you book early.”

Visitors will also be able to find out more about how to help the birds in gardens and local parks.

The sessions will take place at the park’s pavilion, between 10am and 12 noon and 2pm and 4pm. The workshops costs £3 per person and are open to all ages. All tools and materials will be supplied on the day.
