A website that signposts entrepreneurs in Lichfield and Burntwood to organisations that can offer help and advice during the challenging financial times is up and running.

Staffordshire Business Support Consortium has created the web portal which directs firms to groups within the county that can provide help.

Staffordshire County Council has led and funded the project in partnership with Burton-based Business Enterprise Support.

Business people can visit www.staffsbusinesssupport.co.uk and select the type of support they are looking for. A list of organisations that can be of help will then appear on the screen.

Categories featured on the portal include starting and growing your business, recruitment, training and providers and premises for new or growing firms. Specific support is also available for young people, rural businesses and women in enterprise.

County Councillor Mike Lawrence, Cabinet member for Economy, Skills and Enterprise , said:

“The web portal is a really positive step that will benefit a wide range of businesses – from well established firms to those just starting out. The consortium has created a very comprehensive website that will compliment the various other initiatives that the county council has put in place to help boost Staffordshire’s economy.”
