Henley Forest 0 Lichfield City FC 3

Lichfield City warmed up for their Jack Mould Trophy Quarter Final with a stunning 3-0 away win on Saturday.

City, who travel to Kenilworth Town KH this evening (March 2), defeated Henley Forest at the weekend to climb up to fifth place in the Midland Combination Second Division Table.

A James Lawson brace and a strike from leading scorer Jon Rob Dutton sealed the win and Assistant Manager, Andy McRobbie, is hoping that City’s winning ways will continue tonight.

He said:

“We know what we have to do and we know how to do it but it will be a very difficult game against a very good side. The 6-0 thrashing we gave them a few weeks ago will be on their mind and they will be looking to avenge that tonight.

“We want to take the game to Kenilworth and make them feel uncomfortable on their home ground. We want to make it through to the semi finals; that’s all we are focusing on.”

The paperwork has now been completed for the capture of Ben Windridge. The former Dosthill Colts defender is set to make his Lichfield City debut tonight.
