Police are trying to trace a Mile Oak man who is on the run after being sentenced to four years in prison.

Kenneth Wallbank (54), formerly from Mile Oak and Tamworth, was sentenced in his absence after being found guilty for his involvement in defrauding finance companies to obtain vehicles, fraudulent mortgages and loans at Stafford Crown Court on June 19 last year. A bench warrant was issued for his arrest.

Wallbank and his four co-defendants convicted for fraud that netted over £1.5million have recently had Confiscation Orders made against them totalling over £730,000 under the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA).

Wallbank has been described as a white male, 6’ 0” tall and has a West Midlands accent.

DC Tim Whiteley, from the force’s Economic Crime Unit, who worked on the investigation, said:

“We are appealing to anyone who knows the whereabouts of Wallbank to contact us.”
