Police are hoping an e-fit will help them trace two bogus callers who forced their way into the home of an 88-year old woman in Lichfield.

The pair called at the house in the Redlock Field area of Lichfield shortly after 8pm on March 8 claiming to be checking water pipes.

The woman received slight injuries to her arm after she was pushed out of the way.

Lichfield neighbourhood policing commander, Inspector Jed White, said:

“This was a despicable and potentially serious assault on an elderly and vulnerable member of our community.”

The male in the e-fit image is white, aged between 14 and 16 years, with a dark complexion and short dark hair with a centre parting. He is slim and was wearing a grey wind cheater type jacket and grey trousers.  His accomplice was taller and older, about 6ft, white, stocky build and with blonde hair. He was wearing a blue padded jacket, dark bottoms and white trainers.

Police have carried out house to house enquiries and spoken to neighbours.

Insp White added:

“These individuals are very likely to have called at other houses in the area earlier in the evening and I would urge anyone who may have had a visit from them to contact police.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Kiley Round at Tamworth CID on 0300 123 44 55 or, call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
