Lichfield firefighters will be joining thousands of their colleagues across the country when they take part in a national car wash event.

Firefighters will be using their hoses to wash cars on Saturday (March 20) to raise money for The Fire Fighters Charity.

The car wash will take place at Lichfield Fire Station on Birmingham Road from 10am to 2pm, with drivers asked to make a donation to their fundraising efforts.

Andy Buttery, Staffordshire Treasurer for The Fire Fighters Charity said:

“We’d urge people to come along with their cars and do their bit for charity. The Fire Fighters Charity is one close to the hearts of many here at the fire service because of the support it offers past and present fire service personnel and their families during their time of need.

“Drivers attending the event will also be able to request their free home fire risk check, to ensure they are as safe from fire as possible in their homes.”
