Firefighters and scouts team up for fundraising car wash in Lichfield

Firefighters and scouts in Lichfield have raised more than £500 at an event in the city.

The 7th Lichfield Scout Group joined firefighters for the charity car wash event last Saturday (March 20th).

The £504 raised will be split between The Fire Fighters Charity and fundraising efforts for the scout group’s trip to the World Jamboree in Sweden in 2011.

Andy Buttery, Staffordshire Treasurer for The Fire Fighters Charity, said:

“We’d like to thank all of those drivers that supported this event with their generous donations. The money raised will go a long way towards helping ill and injured fire service personnel and their families during their time of need.”

The total raised across Staffordshire is currently £2,586.
