A Lichfield law firm has raised more than £1,700 for its designated charity St Giles Hospice.

A cheque for £1,714.00 was presented to Sarah Shelton of St Giles Hospice by Sarah Popp and Jas Singh who are partners at Ansons Solicitors.

The funds were raised between April 2009 and March 2010 via a number of activities.

In June the firm entered a team of eight ladies who adorned their ‘wings and wands’ for the nine mile Lichfield Solstice Walk and in September they entered a team into the Lichfield 10K running race. In addition to the team raising money, the firm also sponsored the 10K running race as part of a separate fund raising campaign to help a number of other local charities.

The firm also raised cash by competing in the Lichfield Cathedral Dash and by making a donation as an alternative to sending Christmas cards.

In addition to St Giles Hospice, Ansons Solicitors also supports BDF New Life, a charity for disabled and terminally ill children. And in October members of staff also paid to swap their usual work clothes for jeans on Jeans for Genes Day.

St Giles Hospice is a registered charity offering specialist medical and nursing care for people with cancer and other serious illnesses as well as providing support for their families and helpers.
