Schoolchildren in Chase Terrace can go green after being given gardening equipment.

Lichfield MP Michael Fabricant handed over the equipment – which was provided as part of Morrisons Let’s Grow campaign – to pupils at Chase Terrace Primary School.

The school’s headteacher Gordon McBurnie said:

“The children were very excited to have our local MP at the school. It is particularly exciting considering the elections next month. Michael talked to our 400 children about environmental issues and hoped that we make good use of the equipment that we received from the Morrison’s Let’s Grow campaign. We certainly will!”

Mr Fabricant added:

“The enthusiasm of the children was infectious and I very much enjoyed meeting the children, headteacher and some of the staff.  The kids are really keen now to start digging.  And in the meantime, I have invited the school to send some children down to Westminster to see what the House of Commons is all about.”
