Lichfield Diamonds U15 5 Leamington Lions U15 1

Lichfield Diamonds didn’t make the best of starts against fourth-placed Leamington as they struggled to create chances in the first half.

This lack of chances, combined with Diamonds’ failure to get their passing game together, saw the hard-working visitors enjoy success in breaking up Lichfield’s play early on.

And after 25 minutes Lions roared into a lead. The goal seemed to kickstart Lichfield who finally put together a string of passes starting from Edwards and ending with Livermore netting at the back post to make it 1-1 at the interval.

Diamonds were much better in the second half. Shannon B-Jones went clear down the middle to place the ball past the advancing keeper.

Minutes later Livermore made it 3-1 – a goal that finally broke the Leamington resistance.

Connie Shutt headed home a Livermore corner before adding another with a close range volley to complete the scoring.
