Driver urged to come forward after incidents in Burntwood

Police are trying to trace a car driver who stopped and spoke to young girls on two separate occasions in Burntwood.

The man in a dark green car, believed to be an estate, pulled up in Lawnswood Avenue, Chasetown at around 2pm on Monday (April 12) and again in nearby Meadway Street the following day at around 2.20pm.

On both occasions, he asked for directions including how to get to Chasewater.

Inspector David Challinor, Commander of Burntwood neighbourhood policing unit, said:

“His actions may well be totally innocent which is why we are appealing for him to get in touch.”

The driver is described white, in his 40’s, medium build with short, dark brown hair. Anyone with information is asked to contact Sergeant Tracy Ottey at Chasetown police station, telephone 0300 123 44 55 or, call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
