A man has had a lucky escape after a car ploughed through the side of his house in Lichfield.

The accident happened at East Lodge on the Tamworth Road shortly after 11pm last night (April 20th).

A 23-year-old man was sitting on his sofa when the car crashed through the side wall of his house but escaped without serious injury.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said:

“When crews arrived they found one man inside the house and a man and a woman outside who had been in the car. The house sits at the top of a T junction.  Due to fears that a chimney above the car might collapse, the car had been left in situ.

“The man inside the house was complaining of head and chest pain but was not too seriously hurt.  Clearly, he was also somewhat shaken by what had happened.”

The people in the car were able to get themselves out of the vehicle before ambulances arrived, but both were taken to hospital for checks.

The spokesperson added:

“Clearly this had the potential to be an extremely serious incident and it is fortunate that no-one was seriously hurt.”

Good to see that the large spoiler really helped to improve downforce and handling. Without that she could have flown in through the upstairs window.
