Website aims to get Lichfield and Burntwood gardeners composting

A new website has been launched to help gardeners in Lichfield and Burntwood to start composting at home.

The recycling partnership – Recycle for Staffordshire and Stoke – has launched www.staffs.getcomposting.com and will sell items such as compost bins.

Councillor Louise Flowith, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet Member for Operational Services, said:

“Composting is an inexpensive, natural process that transforms kitchen and garden waste into valuable, nutrient rich food for gardens. It is both easy to make and easy to use. We’d like to encourage more people to start composting at home, and this website is a great way to access compost bins at a good price.

“In the meantime, don’t forget we collect all your garden and food waste in your brown bin every other week. To find out more about what to put in your brown bin, please visit www.lichfielddc.gov.uk/recycle.”
